Sapphine is known as 'the gem of Saturn' because of its deep blue shade and therefore it represented the sky, magic and imagination. All blue hues carry order and elegance that's why sapphire has always been used in formal decoration schemes. On the other hand, blue is also the colour of the sea and has a very fresh and friendly feel when combined with lighter shades or neutrals.
