Emanuele Castellini’s great-grandfather was one of the founders of the biggest Italian Linen Yarn Mills. He found linen to be a material of great integrity and pursued the endeavor because:

Linen flowers come from the North West of France and West Belgium.
This is the area that produces the best raw linen in the world, thanks to a mixture of minerals, water, sun and humidity. Like wine, the origin determines the character.
If handled correctly, linen is one of the most resistant and durable fabrics in the world.
· Do not dry on high heat or tumble dry for an excessive amount of time [a long time]. Do not iron when damp.
· The more you wash linen the more it becomes soft and lustrous. For a smoother finish add additional water.
· With dark colours, if you want to avoid shiny spots press it on the wrong side.

Additionally follow the instructions as indicated on the label of each item.
· We recommend using mild liquid soap (more delicate on fabrics than powder) to machine wash the textiles with water, avoiding optic or chlorine detergents.
· Wash the products gently and separately and do not leave them in the washing machine once the cycle is finished.
· Line dry the fabrics without overlapping colours.
· Flat iron while preferably still damp.

A striped fabric occurs when the design runs vertically along the length of the fabric, in the warp sense. Normally this occurs in fabrics with a height of 140/150 cm. A barrè fabric occurs when the lines are oriented horizontally for the height of the fabric (from selvedge to selvedge) in the weft direction. Normally this occurs in double width fabrics 280/330 cm. We always recommend consulting the characteristics of each fabric where you will find the orientation of the design specified.

Linen is not inherently fire resistant therefore we reproduce our linens in Trevira CS.
Yes it can be, but the colour can easily fade. As an alternative we offer an ‘Outdoor’ collection with the look of Linen.
We advise purchasing a slightly higher quantity of fabric than measured to factor in the natural shrinkage on first wash. The fabrics require a water treatment (or pre-wash) before being sewn into finished products (such as sheets, curtains, tablecloths) to increase structure stability, preventing further movement. To calculate the exact quantity of fabric to purchase, please consult the data relating to individual shrinkage of each item in its technical data sheet. If the fabric is used to upholster non-removable sofas or armchairs, the fabric does not require any pre-washing. We invite you to contact our customer service for any questions.
Embroidered fabrics are sold exclusively in single cuts of 4.2 meters and multiples, or in whole pieces of 14 meters.
Blackout fabrics are products which properties ensure they completely block sunlight.
Dimout fabrics are products that significantly reduce light transmission, their effect varies from 90% to 99%.
