Genyadana Hamadaya

Hiroko Ashihara is one of the very few designers in Japan with comprehensive creative capabilities that span across architectural design, interior design and coordination. Genyadana Hamadaya is one of Midtown Tokyo oldest traditional Japanese restaurant, recently re-decorated using C&C Milano iconic jacquard linens. A shadowy atmosphere, with few and dim light sources, made of balck and dark brown woods, tatami floor covering, welcomes guests in this old fashioned restaurant for hospitality and service that is anything but extremely contemporary with regard to the interior decoration. Tailored and graphic wooden chairs are upholstered with C&C Milano Pienza Carciofino linen in sophisticated color natural and stone grey. The small thistle motif reminds of traditional Japanese ideograms, reinterpreting those unique characters in a very pictorial key translating them into small flowers. C&C Milano textiles are able to draw a line between Mediterranean style and far east refined taste in décor.
