San Patrignano is a community, founded in 1978, that offers people with drug addition a path to rehab teaching them high skilled artisanal jobs. Every day in the weaving workshop operates 40 young ladies on manual wooden looms to create unique and bespoke accessories and fabrics using only the highest quality yarns. C&C Milano decided to team up with this centre of excellence to create a luxury and exclusive collection of cashmere and wool throws and blankets.
Charlotte, with its natural caramel and light beige gorgeous tones and its fluffy texture is extremely soft and warm.
Charlotte comes in 55" x 70" sizes with 2" fringes on the short sides.
The finest, softest and most valuable fibre, called Baby Camelhair, is harvested from the still puppy camel and measures 16/18 microns. The collection of this fiber is carried out by combing or by hand picking the fiber itself during the animal's annual molt, which takes place in late spring, during which most of the hair falls from the neck area. Thanks to its fineness and value, camel hair is often considered an excellent alternative to cashmere fibre, also due to the desert habitat in which the animals live which subjects them to frequent temperature changes, making their coat an excellent thermoregulator.
Charlotte is woven with a fancy bouclè yarn obtained by spinning together two threads with different tension in order to obtain small loops of fiber that create a fluffy and airy effect once made into fabric.
